Branding and design for The Smokehouse - Folkestone's 'quality chippie'
Headed up by renowned chef and Gordon Ramsay protégé Mark Sargeant, The Smokehouse is Folkestone’s newest chippie with a difference or, as we latterly coined the phrase, ‘fish and chips done properly’.
Although the client preferred the idea of working with a Kent design agency, Pebble Shores was invited to pitch for the branding, design and roll-out for all marketing collateral against two other established Kent design agencies - and we came through with flying colours.
In developing the brand identity for The Smokehouse, we wanted to reflect the history of the area and gave the branding a slightly Victorian feel set within a modern environment. This gives the all-important signage a distinct and clear difference to the local competition.
In addition to the branding and identity design, we were also responsible for specifying and printing all the marketing materials from menus to signage to the packaging. It got the venue off to the best of starts and, in conjunction with some rave reviews, is going from strength to strength will a planned roll out to other Kent and South East towns.
