We’re located in the heart of Folkestone’s Creative Quarter.
We’re big on innovation, small on procrastination.
We’re ideas driven, but grounded in reality.
We’re the design and marketing people who will listen, question, challenge and create effective solutions to take your brand forward.
We’re Pebble Shores.
So what makes us, us?
We’re not just a nice bunch of hard-working, creative types who produce great looking advertising and marketing. There’s a little more substance to our style. And here’s where you can find it.
How we work
We’re in the solutions business. We find better ways to get your message across – and get it acted upon. Whatever the job, from branding to business cards, we’ll inject the same enthusiasm and questioning to ensure that it doesn’t just meet but exceeds expectations. You love it, but more importantly, your customer will too.
Smart thinking, problem solving and fast moving, everything we do comes from a platform of considered thought, bags of experience and attitude of treating every job as if it’s our first.
And when it comes to budget, we’re very clear-cut. Every job we do is delivered to the budget we’ve agreed with you. No nasty surprises, no unexpected ‘extras’. Ultimately, we believe in a fair price for a fair job.
What we deliver
We deliver experience. You want work that doesn’t just look good but works. That’s what we do. We’re the experienced specialists who know how.
We deliver structure. We apply a very straightforward, proven approach: first we'll rationalise the requirement, listening, asking the questions and challenging when required. We’ll then work out and realise the best solution, talk it through and agree it with you. Then we get things moving, produce what needs to produced and get it working for you.
We also deliver pride. Every job we do has the integrity, commitment and effort that have become our hallmark. A job we can all be proud of.
Industries we know
Our experience is as varied as it is in-depth. We’ve been fortunate to work across a broad spectrum of industries such as:
Life & pensions
Travel & Tourism
Some of our clients
Our experience is as wide as it is varied, and covers consumer, business and trade. Whether acquisition of new customers, enhancing the relationship with your existing client base, or enriching the relationship with your team, it’s knowing the right way to connect with your audience.
Need a reason to work with us? Here’s 10:
It counts and we’ve years of it. Blue chip, start up, client side and agency. We’ve been there and earnt our stripes.
With us, you buy our total commitment and approach that treats your business as if it were our own.
We’ve a job to do and we’ve never missed a deadline (and we intend to keep it that way)
We’re creatively minded, but commercially aware – we’re innovative and create great ideas, but all are grounded in reality.
We believe in long-term relationships as quite simply, the more we understand you, the better we deliver.
We’re constantly looking to innovate the message, and the best media to deliver it through. We never stop thinking.
If it needs to be done, it’ll be done. Out of hours doesn’t mean we are out of order.
If we believe there’s a better way, we’ll tell you - we won’t just blindly do it without thinking about it. Where’s the fun in that?
Where you’ll always find the devil. And us, making sure it’s all present and correct. We’re pedantic about it if we’re honest.
The good bit - where we add value is by coming to you with ideas and solutions – and then seeing them through.
We’ve a comprehensive suite of skills designed to deliver effective branding and marketing. Find out more here:

Nowadays while all and sundry might be Googling, Tweeting, Facebooking and anything else ‘-ing’, there will always be a place for direct mail. It retains an inherent ability to give a real and tangible identity and personality to a product or service.
From establishing whom it needs to go to, the format and personalisation requirements, to design, production and fulfilment, we can ensure that – barring the likes of postal strikes or Icelandic volcanoes – your mailing will certainly get through.
Data briefs and list recommendation
Data audits, database management, cleansing and reporting
Highly personalised variable database technology

Over the years, there’s much we have brought to life for our clients, from humble leaflets to cross-media, comprehensive campaigns and launches.
Our most recent work is posted regularly on our Facebook page, but you can view some we made earlier, with a few example case studies here that give a flavour for the sort of work we regularly do.
When Hilton Hotels needed a campaign for 25,000 staff in 154 hotels throughout the UK and Europe as well as some 500 in their Watford head office, they turned to Pebble Shores.
With the F1 season in full swing, Hilton Hotels wanted to use their sponsorship of the McLaren Mercedes Formula 1 team. Using a grand prix pit crew as a theme, team members were invited to team up in groups of three and prove how they supported the Hilton ‘brand engine’, in the same way that the pit crew supports the F1 car and keeps it running. The idea was to create a video, a presentation or write a story, with the winning trio securing fantastic all-expenses paid trips to the 2010 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
From concept to delivery, Pebble Shores managed the entire process. For the hotels, we created an interactive mailing pack consisting of high-quality branded lanyards and mini brochures that directed the recipients to a dedicated website (also designed by Pebble Shores). For the head office, we organised a giant eight lane Scalextric track complete with branded cars in an exciting elimination contest over two days.
Entirely funded by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, Three Hills Sports Park in Folkestone is billed as a ‘Centre of excellence for hockey, cricket and netball’.
This £7m scheme was designed by Guy Hollaway architects has been some seven years in the making and finally opened its doors on the 15th March 2013.
Pebble Shores was approached to design solutions for the branding and application, from naming to signage application.
Drawing upon the location with the famous Folkestone hills in the background, the Three Hills identity echoes the key club colours and reflects the sporting nature of the venue. This has then flowed throughout the building with subtle vinyl applications of aspects such as the mission statement, role-call wall and wayfinding. Outside, the mono logo against the sports hall is backlit at night creating a halo glow and strong identifier to the building.
Historic club memorabilia has also been sensitively managed, with all re-framed and contained on a dedicated wall over a vinyl featuring cricket and hockey quotations.
Entirely funded by the Roger De Haan Charitable Trust, Folkestone Sea Sports has been established to encourage participation in active sport on the sea.
Currently in a temporary location, the facility is at present a number of container units housing the equipment for fun on the waves. It is operated by Dover Sea Sports who bring around the sailing and powerboats for trips, rental and RYA qualifying courses.
Pebble Shores were approached to bring a professional approach to the branding and marketing, previously done in house.
It was important to show a development from the initial identity development (a result of a competition won by a local schoolgirl). Our final icon shows an evolution from this original submission but also presents a modern, young and cool look reflected of a beach sports offering.
This has been flowed through the communication pieces, from posters and leaflets through to social media, culminating in a packed launch day.
With the branding well received and bookings flowing in, we look towards this temporary facility becoming a permanent Folkestone fixture.
The brainchild of local businessman Josh De Haan and headed up by renowned chef and Gordon Ramsay protégé Mark Sargeant, Rocksalt is Folkestone’s new destination restaurant & bar celebrating the finest local produce & the best the British Isles has to offer. Seasonal ingredients are expertly prepared creating classic & contemporary dishes, while daily specials are influenced by the day’s catch, served in a relaxed, informal setting with panoramic harbour views.
Although local to the restaurant, Pebble Shores was invited to pitch for the branding, design and roll-out for all marketing collateral against two other established Kent agencies - and came through with flying colours.
From the logo identity containing a ‘hidden fish’ to the physical signage, menus and all promotional materials, everything was created and delivered by Pebbles Shores.
With one very happy client, a packed restaurant every night and some rave reviews, Rocksalt has got off to the very best start, and a project we are deeply proud to have been involved with.
Shepherd Neame - one of the country’s oldest breweries - is probably best known for its pubs, inns and hotels located throughout the South East.
As part of their portfolio of hotels, there are six hotels that provide a more contemporary, refined and premium offering to the customer.
They were keen that these hotels were not seen as part of the general portfolio and approached us to create branding and roll out for the properties that presented an individual proposition for each hotel, but had a sense of uniform and commonality when together. They also wanted to identify where some economies of scale could be made with collateral items.
After extensive research, each hotel has been given its own proposition and branding reflected in the icons, colours and patterns. We have also introduced a vibrant second palette of colours for the hotel collateral items such as menus, door hangers, etc. that are shared across the portfolio.
The branding is currently being employed and rolled out across the estate.
CLC World Hotels and Resorts offer hotel and fractional ownership holiday accommodation with properties and resorts all over the world.
Much of CLC’s marketing is through direct mail, often to the customer databases of partner businesses such as Hitachi Finance, Premier Kitchens and Britelite Windows, offering free taster holiday accommodation.
Pebble Shores was initially approached to bring some new ideas to these mailers to continually evolve and develop the response rates. From a number of partner mailings to ad-hoc offers, these were fast turnaround jobs with tight deadlines, all comfortably managed and coordinated with the mailing house.
We also created literature for partner company sales teams in the form of teaser mailers and 24-page brochures detailing the offer and resort locations, all branded under a created name of ‘Your World’.
To date the reaction to, and responses from, these tactical approaches has been very healthy with a continued programme for the foreseeable future.
When the Hilton Brighton Metropole decided to completely redevelop their restaurant and bar to become a more destination-led offering, they turned to Pebble Shores to develop the branding and collateral.
Entitled the Waterhouse Bar & Terrace bar and the Waterhouse Restaurant, the name came from Alfred Waterhouse, the original architect and designer of other iconic buildings such as The Natural History Museum in London.
After researching the history and the using the designer’s renderings, we created a logo identity that was modern and iconic whilst also taking a lead from some of the architecture of the time; in this case the leading used on windows.
From there, the branding was applied to key essentials - the menus and receipt folders as part of an ongoing development of communications and collateral. In the case of these, we specified a nubuck leather effect material with a waterproof silk lining. Finished with blind embossing and a silk screened simple white logo icon, they compliment the surroundings perfectly.
As a recommendation from another Pebble Shores client - Cloud Financial Solutions - CAT approached us with a view to bringing some consistency to their marketing collateral.
CAT is an infrastructure solutions expert, providing everything from cabling to wireless networks, audio-visual installations and green solutions for businesses. With such a broad portfolio of services, in reviewing and developing this, we quickly realised that the CAT offering required more distinctive, flexible and effective branding.
And here’s the net result - one core brand with three distinct offerings, each designed to standalone or work as a part of the multiple proposition.
All-new marketing literature has been developed, from group items such as business cards, mugs and literature folders, to individually branded product inserts.
At Pebble Shores, we’re a small team but we pack a big punch. Between us, there’s a wealth of knowledge, experience and more than a few tales to tell.
